Friends of Conference : The Note Consultancy B.V.

I studied Mechanical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology, doing my thesis in Mechatronics, designing a precision drive for the carriage of the first digital textile printer development at Stork X-cell. After finishing this study in 1990, I accepted a job in R&D which was the start of my career in digital printing in Stork in Boxmeer, the Netherlands, As a mechatronics engineer involved in several development programs for inkjet systems, heading projects to develop several generations of inkjet printers for graphics and textile printing applications. From 1997 to 2005 I was responsible for the business management of the Joint Venture between Stork and DuPont for Graphic Arts Proofing. In 2001 I also became responsible for the Digital Textile Printing activities from Stork. In 2001 I founded one of the first digital textile production printing companies, called DPA (Thailand) together with the Yeh Group, supported with sampling studios in New York City and Sri Lanka. As of 2007, I returned back to Stork Prints to lead the Digital Textile printing division. Over the last years, the Digital Textile Printing business has grown as the major expansion business for SPGPrints (formally Stork Prints), for inks as well as printers. I was the initiator for SPGPrints’ PIKE® single pass printer development and its spin off scanning printer JAVELIN® that I personally introduced at ITMA 2015 in Milano, Italy. With the growth of Digital Textile division I decided to concentrate on design and execution of the road map, (price) positioning, product portfolio management and product life cycle management related to Digital Printing Machines and Inks. As of late 2021 I worked for SPGPrints Austria as Product Sales Manager for Digital Textile Machines. After over 35 years working for Stork/SPGPrints, I decided late 2024 to fullfill my dream to work as an indepent consultant. Thanks to these 35 years, I have built up a large global network of experts and customers active in digital printing, and in textiles in particular. That network, combined with my experience in R&D, sales, marketing, product management and business management, will help me to be a very valuable consultant for the industry. The first year of my consultancy I worked for Itaca Digital in Spain, WTiN in the UK, TexIntel in the UK, Ohno Consulting in Japan and several machine OEM´s in Japan.
